Please take a few minutes to explore and enjoy my website. Stories speak to the core of the human spirit. Good stories inspire change within us, thereby affecting the world around us. Through stories, we can appreciate people of different customs, cultures, generations, and beliefs. In short, stories help us understand ourselves and others. Darlene began writing stories and telling them to students at the elementary school (Pre K-Grade 6) where she was a counselor. Her stories ignited their creative fires, and before long, students were writing stories too! STUDENT STORYTELLING TROUPE She sponsored a Storytelling Troupe of elementary students after returning from the National Storytelling Festival in Tennessee in 2001. Darlene uses different resources to enhance her stories. Whether she is "in character" as Grandma Rose, storytelling to children about "don't take the bait when someone teases you" (complete with fishing gear) or keeping the attention with her 90 pound Boxer "puppy" April, it's always great fun.
